Our job fairs are for anyone looking for employment. You can find a diverse array of employment opportunities at our job fair, meet hiring and HR managers, and have on-site interviews with multiple employers. Here you can ask questions in person, find out more about job openings, and fill out online applications on one of our computers.

Job Training Courses
At City of Refuge we offer job training courses that will give you the skills and confidence needed to earn a job and start a rewarding career. Check out the courses available below and begin your application process.
NAPA Automotive Technician Training (16 Weeks)
Mon-Friday (8AM-3PM)
This course introduces basic concepts and technical training in automobile mechanics. The curriculum covers safety procedures, legal/ethical responsibilities, general service, hand tools, shop organization, and workflow systems.

Culinary Arts (15 Weeks)
Mon-Fri (8:30am-3pm) (12-1pm lunch)
The Culinary Arts Program provides insight into food production skills, various levels of industry management, and hospitality skills for students interested in pursuing a career in the foodservice industry. Each student receives hands-on experience, and the course is structured to teach the fundamentals and basic concepts of Culinary techniques. Also, it develops critical skills such as punctuality, appearance, communication, and customer service. The program is conducted by Atlanta's very own Atlanta Breakfast Club. Successful Students will earn a ServSafe certification towards finding employment in Food Preparation and Serving related occupations.

Forklift Training
2 Day Training
The Forklift Training will provide entry-level skills necessary to gain employment. The course offers hands-on training in a warehouse setting covering critical training areas to receive certification.

Logistics Training
Securing a career in logistics/Supply Chain
The Logistics Readiness Training will provide entry-level skills necessary to gain employment at an entry-level position in the Logistics and Warehouse Industry. The course will cover critical areas of training for work, including the theory of logistics, compliance fundamentals, warehouse safety basics, first aid, and forklift certification.

Coding Bootcamp (16 weeks – full time /26 weeks – flexible)
Monday – Friday (9am-4pm)
Coding boot camp provides the basics necessary for employment within the Information Technology field. Graduates will be recognized as a “full stack web developer” upon course completion. This Web Development/Software Engineer training course includes: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, HTTP, JSON,cPython.

Cyber Security (40 weeks)
Monday – Friday (8am-2:30pm)
Cybersecurity students will have a choice to train and test for the following industry-recognized certifications: CompTIA ITF+, CompTIA Net+, CompTIA Security+, and SOC Analyst. This program length is approximately 9 to 12 months and may be extended for additional industry- recognized credentials.

Back to Work 50+ Jobseekers Bootcamp (Four Day Commitment)
Monday-Friday (10am-12pm) This will be held monthly (AARP Grant to fund this program and additional 25k to fund up to 5k per individual to go through additional training
The City of Refuge has teamed up with the AARP Foundation to offer FREE Jobseekers 50+ Bootcamps in 2023. We will provide 50+ jobseekers with the tools, resources, group coaching, and necessary guidance to embark on a successful job campaign. Bootcamps include an overview session and three subsequent days of coaching sessions. Participants discover their goals, skills, and interests and align them with the job market, elevate and improve their personal marketing tools, and learn how to strategically find and apply for jobs. To attend a FREE Jobseeker Bootcamp at City of Refuge you MUST register with AARP.
Inspired by Arby's class (funded by Arby's Foundation
Cohort 1 -18-24 years olds accepted from Campus and Community. 10 students were selected and achieved their Serv Safe in 3 weeks, then 2 weeks of working at Arby's Howell Mill restaurant. They will be mentored by Inspired Corp staff to eventually be employed by. Corporate or to be General Manager of a restaurant in a 5 year plan. We will have 2 more of these classes run in 2023.
The Launch class
Pilot January 23rd(we will run this every quarter, open to Community and Campus)
The Launch is a course to help develop, build in and perfect the soft skills you need to land and succeed in a job. Throughout this class we encourage you to take notes, and ask questions.
